A practical workshop titled “The Danger of the Unexploded Ordnances (UXO): Application of Digital Technologies in the UXO Recovery“ was held in Ohrid, the Republic of North Macedonia, on the 12th and 13th of November 2021. Organized by the Faculty of Security, Skopje – a partner in the NATO SPS VECTOR project – the workshop was jointly conducted with the Protection and Rescue Directorate and the Ministry of Interior in the Republic of North Macedonia. During the workshop discussions took place around the challenges that exist in dealing with unexploded ordnance and improvised explosive devices and the ways in which modern technology can be applied to operations to neutralize.
A demonstration exercise by the VECTOR project team and a presentation of the opportunities offered by the VECTOR application and the achievements within the project helped to evaluate and improve the practical applicability of VECTORs components. This applicability was enabled through networking and increased communication between the professionals working on dealing with UXO and IEDs.
