On the 10th of December 2021, UKLO FSS hosted the Scientific and Expert Conference “Modern Challenges in Discovering Terrorist Threats from Improvised Explosive Devices“. The goal of the conference was to gather the experts, practitioners, and theoreticians in one place to discuss the results of the activities implemented within the project VECTOR, and to exchange scientific and expert opinions and views on the detection and managing of improvised explosive devices used as a means for realizing terrorist threats. Talks were also held around the development of advanced technological solutions, methodologies and practices, including the VECTOR software developed to detect, identify, and capture improvised explosive devices in response to terrorism.
Together with the Dean of the Faculty of Security - Skopje, prof. Dr. Nikola Dujovski, and the co-director of the project VECTOR, prof. Dr. Marina Malish Sazdovska, the participants were addressed by Dr. Bekim Maksuti, Director of the Protection and Rescue Directorate, and Mr. Arif Asani, Deputy Director of the Public Safety Bureau at the Ministry of Interior at the opening of the conference. The conference was attended by professors from the Faculty of Security - Skopje, the Military Academy - Skopje, and experts from the Ministry of Interior and the Protection and Rescue Directorate.
